The easiest option is not always the best :
Introduction :
As of the recent events going on in the world, it is sometimes difficult for people to contain the flux of negative emotions that are within them, and a small event that might look like insignificant to any of us might be enough for the concerned person to overflow that cup filled with negativity, which sometime leads to a very dark idea to surge in their mind : ending it all.
The problem here :
While it isn't generally considered alarming to have suicidal thoughts, sometimes this idea might find a very fertile environment, and grow with the person as the time passes, because the more experienced your are in life, the more the filter that you are born with becomes less opaque and you become to see the real nature of life as it is, which might be hard to accept sometimes. The burden of living with those negative charges might start to become too hard to handle, especially when your every day's life if filled more with negative events rather than positives ones.
My opinion on the situation :
I always wondered if the human is by nature a depressed being that is just surviving in this world, Schopenhauer or Rousseau (on a lesser degree) would say it is definitely the case, others such as Spinoza would say that people should seek to understand the nature of reality and aim to improve themselves and chase happiness. While on paper this is the right thing to do, sometimes acts surpass a certain threshold and you start to wonder if you aren't actually just lying to yourself, and the depressed you is your real self : lets say a person, lets name it Joe, Joe is now jobless for a whole year, he is constantly seeing his friends posting pictures of their new job, this and the permanent question from his family and surrounding : "is there any news ????", asking once or twice doesnt harm, however when all of this is repeated and for a long time, Joe starts to believe that he is a piece of shit and that he is vowed to stay homeless, he enters a loop of negative thoughts and the only solution to his actual permanent pain is to suffer a fatal act of despair. But if the society did not push Joe (or he did resist the triggers) he would for sure find a job sooner than expected, thats another subject that should be discussed in another day.
How to live with this ?
After living several difficult episodes through my life, I found that generally the cause to having negative thoughts is to compare with the others and to have unreal expectations about ourselves. So one should understand that feeling down or being depressed is just a temporary state and that it can be a chemical thing more than being a genuine feeling, such as a lack of magnesium or the lack of physical contact or emotional availability. Generally we tend to exaggerate the problem in our mind and it looks bigger than it is, so its good to talk to reliable friends in order to see all the sides of the problem, and if its not possible try to verbalize your thoughts by reading them or recording yourself talking about them.
Conclusion
Life is a very difficult ocean to sail, however everyone is unique and everyone deserves to live a happy life even if there is a bigger fish in the sea, life is still enjoyable without being the best. In fact the road to be the best is better than the result. And remember : people fake being happy, but never being sad.
